Beautification project that included the addition of ornamental lights at five intersections along Bellaire Boulevard from Fondren Rd. to Beltway 8.
COMPLETE
Along Bellaire Boulevard there are decorative lanterns existing on traffic signal poles at five different intersections: Beltway 8, Corporate, Ranchester, Gessner, and Fondren. The Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority (SWHRA) authorized Cobb, Fendley & Associates (CobbFendley) to design and manage the construction of the illumination of these decorative lanterns. SWHRA requested the lanterns be illuminated in blue.
The project was recently split into to phases based upon construction readiness.
Bellaire Decorative Lights Phase 1
- Includes Bellaire Intersections at Beltway 8, Corporate, Ranchester, and Gessner
- Electrical service poles, conduits and wiring were previously installed
- Project scope includes electrification of existing meter poles, installation of electrical meters, procurement and installation of light fixtures
- Project was bid on September 23, 2020
- Low Bidder was Reliable Signal & Lighting Solutions, LTD at $43,880.00
- Construction Start Date was November 2, 2020
- Substantial Completion Date was December 1,2020.
Bellaire Decorative Lights Phase 2
- Includes Bellaire intersection at Fondren
- Requires design of service poles, conduits and wiring
- Plans are complete, pending City of Houston Approval
- Project will bid in first quarter of 2021
