Club Creek Park & the Houston Vietnam Veterans Memorial continue to receive widespread recognition for their thoughtful design, community impact, and meaningful tribute to veterans. Most recently, the project was honored at the Urban Land Institute Houston Development of Distinction Awards, where it received both the Open Space Award and the 2026 People’s Choice Award.
These awards recognize projects that exemplify excellence in design, planning, and community impact, with the People’s Choice Award reflecting strong public support for the project.

In addition, the project was recognized by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) as a winner in the 2025 Parks and Natural Areas Awards Program in the On-the-Ground Project Over $500,000 category. The awards program highlights best practices and innovative approaches to park planning and implementation across the region.
Led by the TIRZ 20 Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority, the project transformed a flood-prone tract of land along Brays Bayou into a welcoming public space that serves as both a park and a place of remembrance. The memorial honors 543 Houston-area Vietnam veterans while providing residents with a space for reflection, recreation, and community gathering.

The project was made possible through collaboration between the City of Houston Council Member Edward Pollard, Harris County Flood Control District, the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, along with the work of our design partners SWA, Walter P Moore.
Together, these awards highlight the power of collaboration and thoughtful investment in public spaces that honor history while strengthening community life in Southwest Houston.
